Today, we remain close to where things are made.
We make bespoke furniture and elements for architecture and interior design projects, bringing technical knowledge and manufacturing together under one way of working.
This allows us to take part, alongside the studio, in the decisions that lie between the drawing and the finished piece: testing, refining, developing and reconsidering whenever the project calls for it.
Because our work is about studying what has been drawn and understanding how it deserves to be made.
2015
Before we made, we designed.
In 2015, we launched NYOVA, our first design brand, with a small collection of furniture and objects created alongside young designers. It was our first venture into product design and the beginning of a question that remains with us today: understanding how an idea becomes a physical piece.
2016
The second collection never came to be.
Following the success of the first, we began developing a second collection. It was never released. Designing was only part of the journey; bringing each piece to life involved a level of complexity we did not yet know how to resolve.
That failure would prove far more important than we could have imagined.
2018
We decided to learn how to make.
We stopped, observed and changed direction. We began working on the execution of architecture and interior design projects, moving closer to materials, processes and the realities of making.
The projects became our school.
2020
We moved closer to how things are made.
Working alongside a carpenter with a deep knowledge of his craft changed the way we approached our work.
We began bringing manufacturing processes in-house and, with them, acquiring a kind of knowledge that cannot be learned through drawing alone: how wood behaves, how a junction is constructed, the tolerances a piece will allow, or why a solution that works on paper may not necessarily work in reality.
Design and manufacturing were beginning to speak the same language.
2022
It was time to have a place of our own.
We opened our first workshop and brought in our first industrial machinery. For the first time, we had a space conceived around the way we wanted to work, where we could develop and manufacture projects ourselves.
It was there that we began collaborating with a small group of architecture studios in Madrid who shared our way of understanding design, detail and the value of bespoke work.
2024
We needed space to make more difficult things.
We moved into a new facility and expanded our development and manufacturing capabilities.
But the real change was not one of scale.
The projects were becoming increasingly complex, and our involvement was beginning long before manufacturing: studying details, developing solutions, producing samples, refining systems and working alongside studios to find the best way to bring their designs into reality.

How it all began
LA CUSI was born in a small workshop, with a simple approach to making: doing things well. Over the years, the projects became more complex, and so did our work.
Even before we had a workshop of our own, we wanted to understand how an idea could become an extraordinary piece.
This is the journey that brought us here.
